Sanborn Brothers Development is a residential real estate company named after the "founder" of Amarillo. 

On June 19, 1888, Henry B. Sanborn, who is given credit as the "Father of Amarillo," began buying land to the east of Amarillo after arguing that the current site for town was on low ground and would flood during rainstorms.  Sanborn offered to trade lots in the new location to residents in the original city’s site and help with the expense of moving to new buildings. His "incentives" gradually won over people, who moved to current day Polk Street.  Heavy rains almost flooded the original site for Amarillo in 1889, which prompted more people to move to Sanborn's location.  Sanborn Brothers was created with the same "incentive" mentality....we help people, who can't in normal circumstances, move to a better home in a nicer area.  Our development practices are to create incentives for the people who have no other opportunities.
